Social Science Communications
Social Science Communications (SSC) is a newly established interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal committed to advancing the understanding of key social science issues through high-quality research. We aim to provide a platform for thought-provoking research that addresses critical social, cultural, economic, and policy-related topics. As part of our commitment to excellence, we are inviting qualified individuals to join our editorial and review teams.
We are seeking dynamic and engaged scholars, researchers, and practitioners to contribute to the editorial process of SSC. Roles and Responsibilities
As an editor or reviewer for Social Science Communications, you will be instrumental in ensuring that only the highest-quality research is published. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing Manuscript Submissions: As an editor, you will manage the review process for submitted manuscripts, ensuring timely processing, appropriate selection of reviewers, and clear communication with authors.
- Providing Constructive Feedback: Editors and reviewers will offer insightful, constructive feedback to authors, guiding them in revising their work to meet the highest academic standards. We value feedback that is both critical and supportive, helping to elevate the quality of each submission.
- Maintaining Journal Integrity: Editors and reviewers are expected to uphold the academic integrity of the journal by ensuring that articles adhere to the ethical standards set by Social Science Communications, including those related to plagiarism, conflict of interest, and publication ethics.
- Contributing to the Journal’s Growth: Editorial team members are encouraged to contribute ideas for special issues, thematic topics, and the overall strategic direction of the journal. Your input will shape the intellectual and academic impact of SSC.
- Promoting the Journal: As an editor or reviewer, you will help raise the journal’s profile by recommending quality articles, attracting high-quality submissions, and promoting the journal within your academic and professional networks.
Eligibility Criteria
We are seeking individuals who have demonstrated expertise and experience in the social sciences. Ideal candidates will possess:
- Academic Expertise: A PhD (or equivalent) in any of the social science disciplines, including but not limited to sociology, economics, political science, psychology, anthropology, or social work.
- Research and Publication Record: A strong record of research and publication in peer-reviewed journals within the social sciences. We particularly welcome individuals with experience in areas aligned with the journal’s focus on social theory, policy analysis, social justice, and interdisciplinary research.
- Editorial or Reviewing Experience: Previous editorial or peer-review experience is highly preferred. Experience managing the review process and working with academic writers is essential. Candidates should be familiar with the scholarly publishing process.
- Commitment to Scholarly Rigor: Editors and reviewers should have a demonstrated commitment to maintaining high standards of scholarship and academic integrity. You should have a solid understanding of research methodologies, data analysis, and the ethics of social science research.
- Diversity and Inclusivity: We are particularly interested in candidates from diverse backgrounds and those with expertise in global, cross-cultural, or marginalized perspectives. The journal values inclusive research and seeks to promote diversity in the editorial process.
