Author Guidelines
Energy & System adheres to a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the scholarly integrity and quality of its published research. Authors are required to submit two separate documents: an anonymous manuscript and a separate title page. It is imperative that the manuscript contains no identifying information about the authors, such as names, affiliations, acknowledgments, or any other personal details that may disclose the authors’ identities.
1. Publication Ethics
Authors must strictly adhere to the publication ethics guidelines set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Any form of data fabrication, falsification, plagiarism (including self-plagiarism or duplicate publication without appropriate citation), and misappropriation of others' work will not be tolerated. Ethical violations will be taken seriously and addressed in accordance with COPE’s guidelines. Furthermore, the Turnitin similarity index must not exceed 20%.
2. Conflict of Interest Statement
Upon submission, each author is required to disclose any direct or indirect financial interests, relationships, or other potential conflicts of interest that could be perceived as influencing the reported work or its conclusions. This includes but is not limited to, relevant commercial funding sources, personal relationships, or academic competition directly related to the authors or their respective institutions.
3. Submission and Manuscript Preparation Guidelines
Manuscripts must be written exclusively in English. Submissions in other languages will not be considered. Non-native English speakers are strongly encouraged to have their manuscripts reviewed for linguistic accuracy before submission.
All submissions must be made through the journal’s electronic submission system, in accordance with the system’s guidelines. Communication regarding the submission process will occur exclusively through the editorial system. Authors will receive notifications confirming receipt of their submission and updates on the editorial stages via the system.
For the double-blind review process, authors must ensure that no identifiable information is included in the manuscript. This includes the removal of author names, affiliations, acknowledgments, and any other identifying content from the manuscript, references, footnotes, and bibliography.

4. Paper Structure
The title page (submitted separately) should include: the full article title, an abbreviated title (up to 60 characters, including spaces), the authors’ full names, ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID), affiliations (including university name, city, and country), and the corresponding author’s email address.
The manuscript should include the following sections:
The main body of the manuscript should range from 5,000 to 12,000 words.
5. For Empirical Papers, the Main Text Should Include the Following Sections:
Introduction: The introduction should clearly state the topic of the paper and the objectives of the study, outlining the significance and purpose of the research.
Literature Review: This section provides an overview of existing research, critically evaluating relevant academic articles, books, and other sources (e.g., conference papers, theses). It should demonstrate the background knowledge in the field and highlight gaps in the literature that the study aims to address.
Methods and Procedures: This section should provide a comprehensive description of the research methods and experimental procedures used in the study. It should offer enough detail to allow replication of the study by other researchers.
Results and Discussion: Results should be presented clearly and logically, using tables and figures where appropriate. The discussion should interpret the results in the context of existing literature, highlighting their novelty and contribution to the field.
Conclusion and Recommendations: The conclusion should summarize the key findings and address the research objectives and hypotheses. New hypotheses should be clearly stated, and recommendations for future research or practical applications should be provided.
Acknowledgments: Authors should acknowledge individuals and organizations that have contributed to the manuscript’s development, including those who provided funding, consultancy, or other technical support.
Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
Funding: All sources of funding for the research, including institutional and personal funding, should be explicitly stated.
6. References
Please adhere strictly to the IEEE reference format. All references must be in English.
The IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) citation style is widely adopted in the fields of applied engineering and energy systems research. This citation style ensures clarity and traceability of academic and professional sources. It uses a unique numerical citation system, where sources are listed in the order they appear within the text.
In-text citations should be numbered consecutively, with each citation enclosed in square brackets. For instance, the first citation should appear as [1], the second as [2], and so on. When citing a source more than once, simply use the same citation number.
Unlike other citation styles such as APA, IEEE does not require the author’s name or the year of publication within the text. Instead, the citation number is used to refer to the full source in the reference list.
Example Citations:
-
Books: Author’s initials and last name, Title of the Book (italicized), Publisher, Year of publication.
-
Example: Smith, J.A., Introduction to Renewable Energy Systems, Springer, 2020.
-
Journal Articles: Author’s initials and last name, “Title of the article,” Journal Name (italicized), vol. X, no. X, pp. X-Y, Year of publication. DOI/URL if available.
-
Webpages: Author (or organization), “Title of the page,” Website Name, Date of publication. URL.
For Chinese references, please follow the same IEEE guidelines, but it is recommended to translate the title of the reference into English and provide a DOI or URL if available. Additionally, both Chinese and English author names should be included for clarity.
The references section at the end of the manuscript should list all cited sources numerically in the order in which they are referenced in the text. Each entry should be fully detailed to allow for easy retrieval of the source.
Energy & System operates under an open access policy, allowing readers to freely access, share, and use the full text of its articles for lawful purposes, while authors retain copyright over their work.
