Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).

The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.

Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.

The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.

Author Guidelines
Economic and Financial Research Letters (EFRL) is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes high-quality research articles in the fields of economics and finance. The journal seeks to provide timely and insightful contributions to theoretical, empirical, and policy-oriented research that address contemporary economic and financial issues.
This document outlines the submission and formatting requirements for authors submitting manuscripts to EFRL. Adherence to these guidelines will help ensure the smooth processing and review of your manuscript.
General Information
EFRL invites submissions of original research, including theoretical, empirical, and policy-based studies that offer novel insights into economic and financial issues. The journal publishes concise research letters, typically up to 4,000 words, which contribute to the understanding of emerging challenges and opportunities in economics and finance.
Types of Contributions
- Research Articles: Original, unpublished research that makes a significant contribution to the field of economics and finance.
- Letters to the Editor: Shorter communications highlighting new ideas, novel research findings, or responses to previously published work.
- Review Articles: Comprehensive reviews of the state-of-the-art in specific areas of economics and finance.
Manuscript Submission
Submission Process
All manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system. Please visit the journal’s website to register and submit your manuscript: [submission link]. We accept manuscripts in English only.
The manuscript should be submitted as a single file, including all text, figures, tables, and references in one document (preferably in PDF or Word format). Please do not submit separate files for individual components.
Peer Review
All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process. Authors are encouraged to suggest potential reviewers for their submission, although the final decision rests with the editorial team.
Manuscript Structure and Formatting
The manuscript should be structured as follows:
Title Page
- Title: The title should be concise and informative. Avoid abbreviations and jargon.
- Author(s): Full name(s) of the author(s). The corresponding author should be clearly indicated with an asterisk (*).
- Affiliations: Author affiliation(s) should be listed with the institution’s full name, city, and country.
- Corresponding Author Contact Information: Provide an email address and phone number for the corresponding author.
Abstract and Keywords
- Abstract: A concise summary of the manuscript (150-250 words). It should briefly describe the objective of the research, the methodology, and the key findings and contributions.
- Keywords: Up to five keywords that represent the main topics of the manuscript. These should not duplicate words already used in the title or abstract.
Main Text
- Introduction: Briefly introduce the topic, the research question, and the significance of the study. Provide an overview of the research context, including a review of relevant literature and the paper’s contribution to the field.
- Methodology: Detail the research methods used, including any data sources, models, or experimental setups. Ensure that the methodology is transparent and reproducible.
- Results and Discussion: Present the results of your research, highlighting key findings. Provide a detailed discussion of the implications of the results, comparing with previous work in the field.
- Conclusion: Summarize the main findings and their policy or theoretical implications. Highlight any limitations and propose directions for future research.
References
- Citation Style: All references must be formatted in IEEE style. Citations in the text should appear as [1], [2], etc., and listed alphabetically at the end of the manuscript.
- Reference List: Ensure that all cited works are included in the reference list. Only include references that are directly cited in the manuscript.

Figures and Tables
- Figures: All figures should be numbered consecutively (Figure 1, Figure 2, etc.). Each figure must be accompanied by a caption, and the caption should be placed below the figure.
- Tables: All tables should be numbered consecutively (Table 1, Table 2, etc.). Each table must have a title above the table.
- Figures and tables should be of high resolution, legible, and clear. Ensure that all text within figures (e.g., labels, captions) is large enough to be readable.
Equations and Mathematical Notation
Equations should be numbered consecutively, placed in parentheses, and referenced in the text by their numbers (e.g., Equation (1)). Mathematical symbols should be typed in italic, and standard symbols should be used throughout. For clarity, any complex mathematical formulas should be explained in the text.
Ethical Considerations
By submitting a manuscript to Economic and Financial Research Letters, authors confirm that their work is original and has not been previously published or under consideration for publication elsewhere. The manuscript should not infringe upon the copyright, intellectual property rights, or privacy rights of others.
Plagiarism
All submitted manuscripts will be checked for plagiarism using appropriate software. Any instances of plagiarism will lead to immediate rejection of the manuscript.
