The Journal of Robotic Systems and Design (JRSD) is a newly established, peer-reviewed, open-access journal that seeks to publish cutting-edge research in the design, development, and application of robotic systems. As part of our mission to foster the growth of the robotics community and ensure the highest standards of academic rigor, we are now inviting distinguished scholars, researchers, and industry experts to join our editorial team as Editors and Reviewers.
By participating in the editorial process, you will contribute to advancing the field of robotics, providing constructive feedback to authors, and helping shape the direction of future research in robotic systems and design.
Position Overview
Editors
We are seeking highly qualified individuals to serve as Associate Editors and Special Issue Editors. Editors play a key role in managing the peer review process, guiding manuscripts through review, and making final decisions regarding publication. As an editor, you will be responsible for:
- Managing Manuscripts: Overseeing the peer review process for submitted articles, ensuring they are evaluated by experts in the relevant fields.
- Decision Making: Making final decisions on manuscript acceptance or rejection based on reviewer feedback and your own assessment of the quality and relevance of the research.
- Editorial Contributions: Contributing to the journal's editorial direction, advising on special issues, and helping identify emerging topics for future publication.
- Mentorship: Supporting early-career researchers and authors through the review process by offering constructive feedback and guidance.
Reviewers
We also invite qualified individuals to serve as Reviewers for the journal. Reviewers are essential to ensuring the quality, integrity, and academic rigor of the research we publish. As a reviewer, you will be expected to:
- Evaluate Submissions: Review submitted manuscripts to assess their originality, significance, methodology, clarity, and relevance to the field of robotic systems and design.
- Provide Constructive Feedback: Offer detailed, actionable, and respectful feedback that will help authors improve their work and contribute to the advancement of the field.
- Timeliness: Complete reviews within the designated timeframe, ensuring that the journal maintains a timely and efficient publication process.
- Confidentiality and Ethical Standards: Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards, reporting any potential conflicts of interest or concerns regarding the integrity of the research.
Ideal Candidates
We are looking for individuals with the following qualifications:
For Editors
- A Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree in robotics, engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- Significant research experience and a strong publication record in robotics, robotic systems, automation, or related areas.
- Prior experience as an editor or reviewer for high-quality academic journals or conferences.
- Expertise in key areas such as robotic design, artificial intelligence, automation, mechatronics, or human-robot interaction.
- A commitment to advancing robotics research through rigorous, fair, and constructive peer review.
For Reviewers
- A solid academic background and experience in robotics or closely related fields (e.g., mechanical engineering, control systems, artificial intelligence, etc.).
- A demonstrated ability to evaluate manuscripts critically and provide detailed, constructive feedback.
- Expertise in one or more subfields of robotics such as robotic design, autonomous systems, machine learning in robotics, or industrial applications of robotics.
- A commitment to timely reviews and maintaining confidentiality throughout the peer review process.
